The lights change slowly; a liminal space. A high-pitched sound, barely distinguishable at first, then louder. It becomes an orchestra tuning itself as Joan stands, removing her prison smock. Underneath she is wearing tight black pants and a cowhide patterned blouse. She picks up a large white microphone and primps off stage into the darkness, awaiting her cue...
The stage lights drop and the orchestra strikes a drumroll. A voice speaks over the PA.
